RIP - Joe Soldate (March 2014)

Joe Soldate was the inventor of Soldate 30 & Soldate 60 clay bodies which are some of the stoneware bodies Humble Ceramics uses on a monthly basis.  Soldate 60 was also the first clay we learned on in our very first pottery class. We used to see him around the studio - always in a good mood - teasing us and a bit naughty at times (in a good way), and always generous with wise advice. He and Judith Grimes (another lovely talented potteress/artist we lost last year) were often seen together chatting away. He will be missed.
